The subscription is an epigramm from the Anthologia Palatina (VII 676) and reads:

Δοῦλος Ἐπίκτητος γενόμην, καὶ σῶμ’ ἀνάπηρος,

καὶ πενίην Ἶρος, καὶ φίλος ἀθανάτοις.
